What if there is no mathematics
This is a subject that is applied to every field and profession. Without the application of maths, no field or profession is complete. Imagine living your days without a watch and a calendar. Both the watch and the calendar use numbers, the most basic and important of mathematic characters. How would you know the time of the day? So what do you do? Whether it is a Zoologist assessing the number of animal species on earth or a doctor checking your heartbeat they have to know how to count.
Without mathematics an engineer cannot build a bridge. A quantity checker chemist cannot prepare medicines if he cannot accurately measure the quantity of each chemical. We are all so used to technology of various types that it will be difficult to live in a world without computers, television, mobile phones, and even electricity which is generated in powerhouses using the elements of maths. In fact it is involved directly or indirectly wherever we go and every thing that we may use like the personal computer or notebook or mobile phone with GPRS that you are using for reading my article hence whatever sources we might be using based on the mathematics.
Mental arithmetic helps us a lot in saving hundreds of pounds or dollars in the supermarket. And if we have knowledge of statistics it will help you us see through the claptrap in television adverts or newspapers. Imagine we are in the Stone Age and we have some pet animals like horses, donkeys or any boarding animal to carry wood on them for fire.
One day when there is intense cold and we need extra stack of wood as compare to normal need, for that reason we need more animals to carry extra woods. Here mathematics plays a vital role and can help us to figure out how many extra animals we need to have for extra stack of wood that we need to spend that intense cold day.
Mathematics helps us to have an idea that how much earning or spending has been done and would it be favourable to do a certain activity or not. Mathematics is now being applied everywhere like in the economy of a country, construction of buildings, marking and evaluation of persons.
Mathematics is at the core of all the technologies, it's used everywhere, in short we are using mathematics in some form or another everywhere in our daily lives.
We can conclude from the above discussion that a modern life style is completely handicapped and highly improbable, in the absence of mathematics. Unless we are well versed with numbers, we would find it difficult to reach at important decisions and perform everyday tasks.
Be it to shop wisely, or refashion a home within a budget, knowledge of mathematics holds the key, and hence, barely necessary. Mathematics was at the gate yelling "you shall not pass! Sorry I did not get to this sooner, because the points you make are excellent. Math is not my subject. I can handle the basis, but after basic algebra, I am in uncharted waters without a life vest.
However, I have always recognized the importance of mathematics. Hope you have fallen in love with it by now! This is how much it loves everyone. So, the best way to make peace with it would be to accept it and love it back by understanding it better. After all, it was made to make our lives easier, not difficult.
Mathematics is that subject which is used in every field and profession. Without Mathematics none of the field is complete. Even, it is used in our daily lives. The subject is applied to everything in this world. The basic building block of mathematics is numbers, which enables us to compare things with one another and without which calculations are not possible. Your email address will not be published. Now imagine how different our daily landscape would be if mathematics had never came to be.
It would mean no time, no calendars, no buildings, no transportation, no recipes… the list goes on and on. Quite simply, all of the comforts which make our lives what they are today would be no more.
