How much does cgc charge for grading
I would love to help, but I can't figure out their cost. I send mine to indy to get graded, evidently you can grab em at a convention and pay them there.. And on the 6th thursday of every month its free? Originally Posted by kyleg Or maybe its just us.. I got so confused on Desert Winds site. I called em about getting graded and signed and cost.
It should just be a flat rate. I know Indy said they are just now getting to comics sent last Sept.. He does Quick turnaround.. I would ask Indy. There are other tiers depending on how much your comic is worth and how fast you want them graded.
Pretty much what John said. When I send in books for guys here, I can do that because I am a member and am allowed to submit books through my account. I fear my Spider-Man I have in with them might cost me a little more should it grade high. I always thought the "value" of the comic was determined at a "pre-graded" value.
Also at conventions you don't have to have a cgc account to turn in comics to get graded. The advantage of being a cgc member means you can track your submission and you get a slight discount.

The two 9. Not too shabby! However the 9. So for that one, I essentially made my money back on the cost of the raw comic plus grading, but in reality I actually lost money on it after taking account for shipping, handling and payment processing fees.
The lesson here is be careful — when it comes to many comics — the difference between a 9. The CGC holder is made from high-quality materials and is entirely archival-safe. The inner well that holds books, for example, is comprised of PETG, a plastic that is well known to be archival-safe and extremely clear.
This PETG well is placed inside of a durable outer case that is sonically welded to ensure a secure, tamper-evident seal. I go CBCS all the way now Most of their employees seem soulless lately, unfortunately. They just receive the corporate wip. Keep in mind, just my humble opinion. I also know of pressers such as Avery Comic Pressing who will submit your books under their dealer account so you can save a lot of money using him. Josh Avery provides a great service.
He also can provide his CBCS dealer account to submit your books. I just assume they are just not that interested in the small customer submitting a few books. It's probably not a very profitable business. Small submissions still have to go through a lot of processing and handling. I'm currently taking a journey into mystery in an effort to open my own online comic book shop. Skip to content. Tags: cgc comic books comic collecting.
