Old gregg where is it from

He also loves drinking Baileys from shoes! He also loves a British man by the name of Howard Moon , whom he met by getting fished out of the water during the boat times. Old Gregg loves Baileys and especially if it's from a shoe. A lot of people fear him as he falls in love almost immediately with any unsuspecting fisherman, who pulls him up from Black Lake. Old Gregg is green and has seaweed for hair. One of his most noticeable features, is his pink tutu. Old Gregg also has a mangina that shines light out of it.

Gregg also used to have The Funk, until Howard Moon took it away because he was shit at jazz. You can milk the funk and it will produce a kind of black liquid that if you drink, will make you immediately a musical genius Gregg does watercolours which he's very proud of.

Old Gregg Noel Fielding is a strange, murderous, hermaphroditic merman-creature that lives at the bottom of Black Lake. On a full moon he kidnaps any fisherman that sails in his waters. Old Gregg has seaweed hair, webbed fingers, and a 'mangina'. He wears a silver jacket and a tutu, and has an accent that seems to suggest he originates from the American South, and is also loosely based on Rick James. He lives in an undersea cave and has, as he puts it, "all things that are good".

He is also the keeper of The Funk see below. The bright light which emerges from Old Gregg's mangina has a hypnotic effect on its victims.

He takes them to his underwater lair 'Gregg's Place' to marry, or kill them. Only one man had ever returned from Old Gregg's lair before Howard's escape, and he was so terrified that today he shrieks whenever he is spoken to. Once Howard is taken to Old Gregg's lair, he discovers that Old Gregg is a pathetic creature, desperate for love. Old Gregg paints water colours and has a fixation with Baileys, so he constantly offers Baileys whenever he is not painting water colours of himself, Howard or Baileys.

He is very persistent, repetitive and mad, and wishes he could perform in a catchy 80's funk duet with Howard called The Family Funk. At the end of the episode he persuades Howard to marry him, and while Howard escapes before the marriage can take place, the show ends with our heroes driving back to town and Old Gregg perched atop their van, wearing a wedding dress.

What happens when they return to London or how Howard deals with Old Gregg is never made clear. Old Gregg's catchphrase is to wail "I'm Old Gregg! Old Gregg also appears in the live show and sings his "Love Games" song to Howard which turns into a rave at the end of the song. This one I didn't quite as enjoy as much as others and simply cannot see fans' admiration for it.

Sure, it's a funny episode, with some brilliant interaction between Howard and Vince, but 'Old Gregg' just didn't do it for me, sorry. There simply isn't enough to him as a character that makes him funny. Sure, he's pathetic, a little psychotic and he's got a 'mangina', but to be honest, he never really made me laugh; like Howard said, he's just quite irritating.

The plot as a whole isn't too bad, at least until Howard and Vince are separated. Usually this technique works, allowing both to flex both their characters in hilarious situations before Vince comes in to save the day, but it doesn't work quite so well here. Instead both just kind of wait a little, in a bit of lull until the problem can be resolved.

It's a shame too that Barratt's performance seems a little off during the scenes with Old Gregg, never really bringing out any of the humorous sides of Howard. Instead he's portrayed as rather despondent and nothing else. Nevertheless I did love the fishermen, the tale of the funk, the 'love games' song one of the best yet!

Overall, a good show, but certainly not the classic it's made out to be- the poorest effort of season 2 I'd say. Otoboke Feb 11, Details Edit. Release date August 23, United Kingdom. Technical specs Edit. Runtime 27 minutes.
